Interview
Where do you come up with your ideas for products?
Anywhere I can... I might see something I like on another website and reinvent it to my liking. Or I might be at a club
and be inspired by something someone is wearing. Or at Hot Topic see something I like and realize they charge too much
for cheap products and create my own interpretation of it.
What inspires you?
The age old question... this is a tough one... A lot of things inspire me... friends, family, writing, music, style, cartoons, magazines, and my
own will to be different and make a difference. I do have to give a big thanks to my friend Stef over at ThoseThings.com
she really is the one that inspired me to open a web store and to take hold of my dreams and ideas. I just love her and her work, I think she is great
and I'm so happy to have met her... So I guess in turn I owe thanks to Criss Angel for introducing us, lol.
Do you like to listen to music while you work?
Definitely! Music is a must for me... I have to have something on or I just can't work. It doesn't matter what it is, sometimes I'm picky and sometimes I don't care.
But a few of my favorite bands are: Criss Angel, Celldweller, dope, Assemblage 23, Zeromancer, Scarling, Jack off Jill, Rob/White Zombie, Cirque du Soleil, Razed in Black,
Hole, NIN, Apoptygma Berzerk, Marilyn Manson, Tori Amos, Bjork, Wumpscut, E Nomine, Eletric Hellfire Club, Garbage, Gwen Stefani, No Doubt, Hikaru Utada, Madonna, Lords of Acid,
Murderdolls, Rasputina and the list goes on and on....
What do you hope to accomplish with Dreadful Dolly's?
I don't plan on becoming rich or famous and a famous designer or anything. I just want to offer the public more choices in their shopping.
To show there is an alternative to Hot Topic and "trendy" shops... I don't totally disregard Hot Topic or anything, sometimes they have
cool stuff, but it's getting harder and harder to be yourself when everyone is dressing just like you and every store sells the same stuff.
I guess I just want to help boost up individuality again...
